A well-established family business
We are a family-run business with deep experience in the trade, specialising in manual transmissions since 1977. We focus on a personal, reliable and professional service, and on building long-term relationships with our customers. Our reputation has been earned through quality workmanship, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to doing right by the people who bring us their cars.
From those beginnings the company has grown into one of the largest re-manufacturers and repairers of manual transmissions in North West England. While most garages stopped opening gearboxes and differentials years ago, we kept the skills, the tooling and the parts stock, which is why so much of our work now arrives by referral.

The workshop today
Six ramps across two workshop areas, a dedicated differential bay within the main workshop, and stores holding reconditioned and checked second-hand gearboxes and parts on the shelf. The capacity is the point: it is what makes next-day clutch fitting and fast fleet turnaround possible.
The team
The workshop is staffed by time-served technicians who specialise in transmissions, supported by office staff who can answer questions about your job or your account over the phone or at the front desk.
